In person registration will take place March 2nd at First United Methodist Church (Fellowship Hall, 900 Arendell St., Morehead City)  Special siblings and multi camp discounts will be available for in person registration only.  Please download and bring this form filled out on March 2nd as you register your child in person.  You need one form per camper.  We are looking forward to seeing you soon! Summer Camps

For Kids in Kindergarten through High School!

The summer theatre camps offered by the Carteret Community Theatre serve to provide Younger generations an opportunity to learn about and participate in the theatrical arts.  The goal of these camps is to offer children a unique experience to use their imagination in a creative way that teaches empathy and cultural understanding. The camps have been designed specifically for children to not only expose them to the arts, but to develop cognitive skills and communication skills while building self-confidence.

Children in Carteret Community Theatre Summer Camps will also learn the fundamentals and infrastructure of the theatre while learning and performing dramatic works. These fundamentals will include knowledge of stage directions, acting skills, set designs and rehearsal routines. The camps will conclude with a final performance which is a culmination of all the skills they have learned and practiced so they may share with family, friends and the community.

Group: Introductory Level, 5 – 10 Years of Age

  • The camper will learn the history of theatre.
  • The camper will develop skills in listening, communication, cooperation and  confidence.
  • The camper will explore the world of theatre by learning acting techniques,  improvisation and music.
  • The camper will create mask and costumes.
  • The camper will learn and participate in choreography and lyric to Broadway Shows.
  • The camper will participate in show performance.
  • The camper will  have fun.

Group: Intermediate Level,  11 years of age and up

  • The camper will explore the Stanislavski and Meisner techniques of acting and improvisation.
  • The camper will research and learn monologues.
  • The camper will participate in musical theatre from Broadway Shows.
  • The camper will bring stories to life in musical theatre.
  • The camper will explore the technical aspect of theatre which will include: lighting,
  • sound, costuming, makeup, hair, props, stage management and directing.
  • The camper will participate in show performance.
  • The camper will have fun.
