FIRST REHEARSAL: Sunday, April 30th at 6:00 p.m.
What to prepare: Please prepare 1 minute song from a pop rock musical or a rock/pop song from the 70’s/80’s. Choose something that not only demonstrates your singing ability but also allows you to play a character. Show your personality! Bring sheet music or an accompaniment track. A pianist and speaker will be available. Dress comfortably, you will also learn a short dance combo. Cold readings.

SYNOPSIS: It's 1985, and rock star wannabe, Robbie Hart, is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and, unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

ROBBIE HART - Age Range 25-40 - The lead singer of the band. Handsome and charismatic. Strong singer, ability to play guitar preferred but not an absolute requirement. Vocal range - Rock Tenor, top: C6 bottom: B3
JULIA SULLIVAN - Age Range 25-35 - The pretty "girl next door" in looks and personality. She is a waitress who longs to be married and live the perfect married life. Empathetic, caring, and brave. Vocal range – Soprano, top: F5 bottom: G3
SAMMY - Age Range 25-40 - Robbie’s friend and bass player for the trio, not terribly bright but means well and is supportive. Singer, ability to play guitar is preferred but not an absolute requirement. Vocal range – Baritone, top: A5 bottom: C4
GEORGE - Age Range 20-35 - Strong character singer who can rap. The wedding band's keyboardist and one of Robbie's best friends. Sensitive and flamboyant. Vocal range – Baritone, top: A5 bottom C4 (strong falsetto)
HOLLY – Age Range 20-40 - Julia’s cousin, very uninhibited and forward. Must have strong dance ability, and a unique voice with a strong belt. Must be a strong actor with comedic timing. Vocal range – Pop Belt, top: E5 bottom A3
GLEN GUGLIA - Age Range 35-50 - Julia’s fiancé, a calculating, money-loving Wall Street type. Strong acting skills and requires singing and basic movement. Vocal range - Baritone, top: B5 bottom: D4
ROSIE - Age Range 60+ - Robbie’s sweet and spicy, but totally loveable Grandmother. Must have great comic timing. Sings and raps. Basic movement required. Vocal range – Mezzo Soprano, top: C5 bottom: C4
LINDA - Age Range 20-35 - Robbie’s fiancé who leaves him at the altar. Strong belt voice with rock edge. Strong dance ability required. Rock belt, top: D5 bottom: A3 (Will also be in ensemble)
ANGIE – Age Range 40-55 – Julia’s Mom. Strong character singer/actor, good comic timing. New York/New Jersey accent. Divorced and bitter. Vocal range – Mezzo soprano (Will also be in ensemble)
ENSEMBLE: Looking for strong dancers and singers with great comedic timing to portray various roles, including guests at weddings, Vegas impersonators, mall patrons, stockbrokers, etc. This includes cameos and featured parts that contain solo singing and dialogue.
IMPERSONATORS - RONALD REAGAN, TINA TURNER, IMELDA MARCOS, CYNDI LAUPER, MR T, BILLY IDOL. If you feel you could perform one of the following successfully, please note this on the audition form.

Synopsis: This is an absurdist comedy surrounding a fictional meeting between young Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso at a Parisian bar, the Lapin Agile, at the beginning of the 20th century, just before either of them blow up and transform their respective fields. The bar patrons philosophies counterbalance the geniuses in their presence before they are visited by a time traveling musician from America who places their greatness into perspective.

Character breakdown: Cast - 11 characters (6m/5f)
Freddy – The owner and bartender of the Lapin Agile. Male 30s-40s
Gaston – An abrupt and direct old Frenchman with prostate issues. Male 60+
Germaine – A waitress at the Lapin Agile. Freddy's girlfriend. Female 30s-40s
Albert Einstein – A 25-year-old scientist with big aspirations. Often has to explain himself.
Suzanne – A beautiful 19-year-old girl who is infatuated with Picasso.
Sagot – Picasso's eccentric art dealer. Written as Male but will be cast as female for our production. 50+
Pablo Picasso – A talented and charismatic 23-year-old painter. Egotistical, self-confident, womanizer.
Charles Dabernow Schmendiman – A young inventor with huge dreams and little knowledge. Male 20s-30s
The Countess – An extremely intelligent and attractive woman, with whom Einstein is infatuated. Female 30s
A Female Admirer – A young admirer of Schmendimen
The Visitor – A country-boy, time-traveling, blue-suede-shoed musician. Male 20s
Making God Laugh follows one typical American family over the course of thirty years' worth of holidays. Starting in 1980, Ruthie and Bill's grown children -- a priest, an aspiring actress, and a former football star -- all return home, where we learn of their plans and dreams as they embark on their adult lives.
